Kenya Harlequin took an early lead in the ninth minute through a penalty slotted in by Ervin Asena for a 3-0 advantage. KCB responded with back-to-back tries, with flanker Elvis Olukusi crossing the whitewash in the 24th minute for the opener.

The bankers found their rhythm, and just three minutes later, Michael Wamalwa added a second try, which Austin Sikutwa converted, giving KCB a 12-3 lead. Asena narrowed the gap with another penalty for Quins, making it 12-6, but KCB struck again in the 38th minute through Andy Cole Omolo’s try, with Sikutwa adding the extras for a 19-6 halftime lead.
