Obae, Okoth earn first starts at Menengai Oilers as squad to face Kisumu is unveiled

Menengai Oilers have unveiled their squad for the Kenya Cup encounter against Kisumu RFC, set to kick off at 3:00 PM on Saturday at the ASK Showground.

Scrum-half Collins Okoth has been handed a starting role, marking his senior debut for the side, while Abutwalib Wesonga retains his spot at fly-half.

Menengai Oilers place for Obae

Amos Obae, recently crowned Most Valuable Player at the Impala Floodlit Tournament, earns his first start for the Oilers. The former Nakuru RFC star will debut in the Kenya Cup, teaming up with Samuel Were and Nelson Makokha in the back row.

Destorius Ifedha makes a return to the lineup after missing the Floodlit final, joining Celestin Mboi and Vincent Mwikhali in the front row. Charles Osgood and Clinton Odhiambo form the second-row pairing.

Beldad Ogeta returns to action after sitting out the Floodlit Tournament and Elgon Cup. Timothy Okwemba takes up the left wing, while Samuel Mwaura starts at fullback.

Samuel Ovwamu is set to debut for Oilers in the Kenya Cup, with Chrispine Shitundo making his first appearance in the midfield following a positional switch from the back row.

The bench features Emmanuel Mula, Victor Were, Allan Ochieng, Ibrahim Ayoo, Elkeans Musonye, Andrew Odero, Stephen Arunga, and Alvin Khavoli, offering depth and experience for the match.

Oilers will look to start their Kenya Cup campaign strongly as they host Kisumu RFC in Nakuru.
