MMUST Rugby secured a commanding 32-6 victory in the KRU Championship opening match played at MMUST University Grounds.
The Makakas came out strong, with Brian Ndeda crossing the whitewash in the opening seven minutes.

Despite Washington Ombima missing the conversion, the early try gave MMUST a 5-0 lead.
Mean Machine quickly responded through Norman Felix, whose penalty kick reduced the gap to 5-3.
However, MMUST soon took control of the game. Churchill Oyugi and Nigel Obari added two tries, both converted by Ombima, extending the score to 19-3.
Just before halftime, Veron Kaburu powered over for another MMUST try. Ombima’s conversion attempt from a tight angle fell short, leaving the halftime score at 24-3.

While Ombima struggled to find his rhythm with the boot, missing the conversion, the hosts increased their lead to 29-3.

Mistakes in Mean Machine’s defense opened the door for more MMUST points. Veron Kaburu added to his tally with a penalty, bringing the score to 32-3.
Mean Machine managed one more penalty through Felix, but it was too little, too late, as the match ended 32-6 with Mmust bagging bonus-point victory.
