As the break approached Chrispine Shitundo added another try for Oilers to complete a brace to his name but the conversion went wide bringing the scores to 38-03 in favour of Oilers at halftime.

The second half saw Monks maintaining defensive discipline on their side making it hard for Oilers from scoring more tries but Oilers debutant Samuel Ovwamu managed to capitalise on a defensive lapse on the Monks side to score the last try for the Oilmen with Abutwalib Wesonga adding the extras making it 45-03 at full-time in favour of Oilers.

Menengai oilers have now qualified for the tournament’s semis scheduled to be played in a week’s time at the same venue.
