Arturo, Obae, Ovwamu to make Menengai Oilers 15s debut in Floodies

Menengai Oilers have named four new signings in their squad for the upcoming match against Catholic Monks on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Impala Club.

Former Kabras Sugar hooker Fortune Arturo, who was instrumental in Kabras’ Eric Shirley Shield final qualifications over the past two seasons, is set to make his debut. Amos Obae, who has already featured for the Oilers’ sevens team, will also get his first appearance for the 15s squad.

Samuel Ovwamu, after impressing in the sevens format, earns his first start for the 15s side and will partner with Chrispinus Shitundo, who shifts from his usual back-row role to start in midfield.

In a dynamic midfield combination, Kenya Simbas duo Samuel Onsomu and Abutwalib Wesonga will link up, with Timothy Okwemba, Lucky Onyango, and Samuel Mwaura forming the back three.

The starting pack is anchored by former Kenya U20 star Samuel Were at number eight, with Nelson Makokha and Clinton Odhiambo flanking. Captain Hibrahim Ayoo and Charles Osgood will lock the scrum in the second row. Destrious Ifedha, Celestine Mboi, and Vincent Mwikhali complete the forward setup.

On the bench, former Kabras and Kisumu RFC forward Victor Were provides experience, alongside Allan Ochieng, Elkeans Musonye, Andrew Odero, Stephen Arunga, and Alvin Khavoli.
