Kenya Cubs suffered their third loss as Kenya Lionesses registered the first draw of the tournament with Uganda maintaining their winning streak on day two of the women’s category of the 2024 Safari 7s at Machakos Stadium.
Shogun thrashed Kenya Cubs 32-05 extending their winless streak in the tournament.
Shogun took a 07-00 lead through Shalot minutes into the game as Emma Hennessy proved to be dangerous coming in with two successive tries for Shogun bringing the scores to 17-00.
As halftime approached Kenya Cubs managed to score their first try also the first try of the tournament through Catherine Elizabeth making matters 17-05 at halftime.
The second half saw Shogun’s Emily Ekuru become the star of the game as she came in with a hatrick that gave Shogun a 32-05 win over Kenya Cubs.

In a thrilling encounter, Lionesses were held to a 19-19 draw by Coasta Blanca Barbarians with Sarah Martina scoring the first try for the Barbarians before Diana Kemunto offloaded to supporting Freshia Oduor for the Lionesses’ first try. Barbarians Silvia also earned her name on the scoresheet making it 12-07 in favour of Barbarians at halftime.
In the second half Diana Owino added another try for the Lionesses, Barbarians then capitalised on a defensive lapse on the Kenyan side for a 19-14 lead.
In the dying minutes of the game saw the first draw of the ladies tournament as Sinaida gave Kenya Lionesses the much-needed try to draw them level making matters 19-19 at full-time.
Uganda lady cranes extended their perfect run in the tournament defeating their counterparts Uganda 2 15-5.
