Strathmore leos back Collins Maina has undergone successful surgery on his meniscus injury, the club has announced.
Leos revealed the news, announcing that Maina had a successful surgery, and wished him a quick recovery. The surgery comes at a time when the player had just earned a chance with Kenya 7s.
“Collins Maina, fresh off a call-up to the Kenya 7s Shujaa Team, recently underwent successful arthroscopy surgery to address a persistent meniscus injury. As he focuses on recovery, we look forward to seeing him back stronger on the pitch soon,” Strathmore Leos said in a statement.

Maina was instrumental for Leos in the just concluded National 7s circuit helping them clinch the Prinsloo 7s title and was among the five players from Strathmore Leos who were named in the provisional squad ahead of Safari 7s slated for 11-13th October 2024 in Machakos County.

He was among the 36-man squad who reported to training on Monday 23 September for the national team training ahead of Safari 7s where a final squad of 26 will be named for both Shujaa and Morans.
The event will be used for the preparation and to pick a team for the HSBC SVNS season, which will begin on November 30– 1 December 2024.
