Kenya 7s forward Kevin Wekesa has been named in the Monaco 7s squad for the Supersevens opening tournament, set to take place in Mont-de-Marsan this Saturday.
Wekesa’s inclusion follows his recent appearance with the Kenya 7s team at the Paris Olympics.

The forward will be joined by his former teammate Kabras teammate Rosco Syster, as well as South Africa’s star player Rosko Specman.
The squad also features Argentina 7s stars Augustin Fraga, Gaston Revol, and Fernando Luna. Other notable players include Spanish star Pol Pla, New Zealand’s Jayden Keelan, and Fijian player Semi Kunabuli.

The Supersevens is the first professional sevens club championship in France and will be contested over three rounds this season.
The tournaments are scheduled to be held in Mont-de-Marsan on August 17, La Rochelle on August 24, and Pau on August 31, culminating with the finals day at Paris La Defense Arena on February 1.
Other East Africans who have featured in Supersevens include Alvin Otieno and Philip Wokorach.
