USA 7s have announced the roster for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games set for Paris from July 24-27.
Captain Kevon Williams will lead the team as they aim to secure the USA Men’s Rugby Sevens’ first Olympic medal, marking 100 years since the USA last won Olympic gold in rugby. The team previously finished ninth in Rio 2016 and sixth in Tokyo 2020.
The roster features 12 primary athletes and two traveling alternates. Perry Baker and Madison Hughes will make their third Olympic appearances.
2016 Olympian Maka Unufe, along with 2020 Olympians Kevon Williams, Stephen Tomasin, and Matai Leuta, will also return.
Newcomers to the squad include Naima Fuala’au and Malacchi Esdale, who were alternates in Tokyo.

Aaron Cummings, Orrin Bizer, Marcus Tupuola, and Lucas Lacamp are set to debut at the Olympics. Travelling reserves Pita Vi and Adam Channel will join the team in Paris.
Absent from the team is 2020 Olympian Joe Schroeder, who is recovering from a knee injury sustained at the Singapore SVNS. Additionally, 2020 Olympian Maceo Brown has retired from rugby following a knee injury.
Head Coach Mike Friday and the high-performance staff selected the team based on procedures approved by USA Rugby and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
The team will depart for Paris on July 13 to train at the High-Performance Center in preparation for their matches starting on July 24.
\According to the pools announced by World Rugby on June 23, the USA is in Group C and will compete against Fiji, France, and Uruguay.
