Youngster Sinaida Nyachio scored two tries and three conversions as the Kenya Lionesses roared to an impressive start in the World Rugby Sevens Repechage, thrashing Samoa 31-5 in Monaco.
With this victory, the Lionesses have secured a place in the knockout stage, while Samoa is out of contention after consecutive losses.

The Lionesses took the field for the first time this weekend following the cancellation of their match against Papua New Guinea.
They had a dream start, leading 19-0 at halftime. Nyachio opened the scoring with a try, which she converted for a 7-0 lead.
The lead extended to 12-0 when speedster Janet Okello crossed the line, though Nyachio missed the conversion. Nyachio made up for the miss by converting Grace Okulo’s try, pushing the score to 19-0.

In the second half, the Lionesses continued their dominance. Nyachio grabbed her second try, extending the lead to 24-0.
Sharon Auma added another try for Kenya, following impressive work from Freshia Oduor. Nyachio converted, making it 31-0 before Samoa’s Linda Fiafia pulled one back for her team.
Christabel Lindo almost added another try for Kenya, but she was held up.
Kenya will face Argentina at 6:08 p.m. to determine the top team in the pool.
