Koyonzo Boys and Kakamega School will both represent Kakamega County in the Western Regional Championship games set to commence on the 19th of March 2024 Vihiga County
Koyonzo, who had displayed dominance in their first encounters with Kakamega in the group stages snatching a 14-06 win, have proved their prowessness after they managed a 10-3 win in the finals.
The intense match only saw two try scorers Eric Simiyu and Becam Wangila managing to cross the whitewash line in either half for the 10-3 score.
Kakamega High School have had a tough encounter as in the two encounters they have not managed to cross the Koyonzo defence for a try, rather all their scores were earned through well-taken penalties.

In the semi-finals, Koyonzo managed a dominant 23-3 win over Musingu Boys courtesy of Rogers Alukwe’s brace, Miracle Kiptoo’s try and Eric Simiyu’s penalty and a conversion whereas Kakamega managed a hard-fought 13-0 win over St. Peters.
Speaking to Scrummage Africa, Eliud Okwemba, Koyonzo’s head coach, said that with the county win, they are now set to shift focus to the Regional trophy.
“We are happy to retain the title, now we shift our focus on lifting the western region title which is the next hurdle, ” he noted.
