On-form Daystar Falcons has defeated Impala RFC 29-13 to continue with their winning streak in a game played at Impala Rugby Grounds, Nairobi.
Impala struck first for a 3-0 lead after a successful penalty kick by Quinto Ongo before Patrick Odongo made a brilliant run cutting through Impala’s defense to score a try for Daystar Falcons. Conversion attempt was unsuccessful as Daystar led 5-3.
After a long interphase of play, Daystar Falcons managed to spot a gap out wide and it was Samuel Ovwamu who was at the end of the quick hands by Daystar backline to score their second try for a 10-3 score.
Impala would pull one back when Matasi landed them their first try of the match which was successfully converted by Quinto Ongo to level the scores at 10-10 just before half time.
After the break, Impala RFC would reclaim their lead after Quinto Oongo successfully booted in a penalty goal for a 13-10 lead. Daystar Falcons bounced back to score their third try. Eddy Wambugu converted the try to take the scores to 17-13.
Kenyan International Patrick Odongo would score his second try of the game, a try that gave his side a bonus point. Conversion attempt was wide as scores read 22-13.
In the dying stages of the game, Patrick Odongo landed on Impala’s loose ball and passing it to Eddy Wambugu who scored the last try of the match as he slotted in the conversion for a 29-13 score.
