The Uganda Rugby Union has announced the details for the Uganda Cup finals, which will take place on Saturday 20th January 2024 at Kings Park.
The Women’s final will start at 2 pm, while the Men’s final will commence at 4 pm. The Nile Rapids and Avengers women’s teams have secured their places in the final after winning their respective semi-final matches. The Rapids beat the Black Pearls by a narrow margin of 27-26, while the Avengers defeated the Thunderbirds 11-10 in the semi finals.
In the Men’s final, the unbeaten Heathens will face the Rams. The Rams made it to the final after winning a coin toss following a tie against Plascon Mongers. The Heathens, on the other hand, won their semi-final match against KOBS by a score of 30-23.
Joseph Kana, the Rams’ captain, expressed confidence in his team’s preparation for the Uganda Cup final against the Heathens. He stated that they have been training hard and are determined to win the title. He also believes that his team is fitter than the Heathens and will emerge victorious.
From a post on social media platform X, Twitter he said “We are fully prepared. We have been training hard since the year began and know for a fact that we are more fit than Heathens. They are bigger but knowing our size, we have been dedicated to gym for this campaign and are level on strength. Feels amazing truth be told, we are going for this Cup, we have perfected our game plan and are sure the Heathens will fall to it ”
