Kabras RFC will hold on to the top spot on the National 7s Circuit standings heading to a 19-day break despite missing out on the Christie 7s title.
The Sugarmen lost their 16-match winning run following a 7-5 defeat against Strathmore Leos. The defeat saw Strathmore become the first side to beat Kabras twice this season.
National 7s Circuit toppers
Despite the loss, Kabras rose to beat Nakuru RFC 19-12 to collect 17 points that kept them on top of the log. Felix Ayange charges have 80 points following three final appearances and one bronze finish.
Christie 7s Champions KCB Rugby maintained the second spot following the second cup victory this season. The bankers have 78 points and have closed in on Kabras RFC cutting the gap to two points.
Strathmore Leos are third on the log with 63 points after the first final appearance this season. Kenya Harlequin occupy the fourth spot while defending Champions Menengai Oilers have dropped to fifth with 56 points.
Mwamba are sixth with 52 points while Nakuru’s first semi-final appearance propel them to 44 at position seven.
Homeboyz have 38 points on the standings at position eight while Nondies are 10th. Kisumu close the top 10 with 28 points.
