The tactician who was speaking to the media during a training session on Thursday, further thanked the strength and conditioning and Physio department for their job in ensuring the squad is intact and with no injuries, revealing that every player passed fitness tests for the game.
“It’s a different ball game this Saturday, it’s a final. There is a lot of nerve, nature of the game and the element of the crowd. It’s all up to the players now as the executive and technical staff have done their bit. From our side we are ready, we have planned well, we know what to expect from them. If our players stick to their plan, everything will come together,” he said.
Katywa who is leading Kabras to their eigth straight final said the game changer for the season was appointing a mental health coach for the boys, who according to him has played a vital role in ensuring the players maintain a good mental framework for winning.
“We have trained well enough to put our structures into place. One of the things we have done as Kabras is to bring different faculties of the game that is needed in this modern game where we’ve brought a mental coach for the guys who has actually prepared them very well in terms of trying to focus,” he said.
Although a final fixture between the two favors the bankers, Katywa said he believes the team has learned from past mistakes and their recent wins against the bankers over the past few seasons is the statement of proof. He added the team blends a good balance of experienced players and youngsters, whom he banks on to deliver.
