South Coast Pirates secured their spot in the top four with a hard-fought 20-17 victory over the Impala Saracens at Seacrest.
The defeat confirmed that the Impala Saracens will spend another season in the second tier of the league while Nondies, Daystar, Kisumu RFC and Pirates will play the semis.
The Pirates got off to a great start with a try from Collins Kabayo, which was converted by Elias Gitonga to give them a 7-0 lead. The hosts then extended their advantage with an unconverted try to go up 12-0.
Although the Impala Saracens pulled one back through Antony Nyandigisi, Gitonga kicked in a penalty to make it 15-3 at halftime.
In the second half, the Pirates scored another try through winger Anthony Abonyo, but the Impala Saracens fought back and scored a try of their own through Tony Khadambi, which Nyandigisi converted.
The Impala Saracens then scored another converted try, but it was not enough to catch up with the Pirates.
The result meant that the Impala Saracens are out of contention for the top four, as they prepare to face Nondies in their next match since the maximum they can achieve is 31 points.
Elsewhere, Daystar Falcons continued their impressive form in the second tier with a 44-27 victory over Shamas Foundation to secure their eighth win of the season and maintain their hold on the second spot.
Kisumu RFC also extended their winning run with a dominant 44-5 win over Eldoret RFC, while Nondies sealed the top spot with a resounding 54-20 victory over Zetech Oaks.
