MMUST Rugby snapped their seven-game losing streak with a 21-10 victory over Homeboyz Rugby at Jamhuri Grounds, keeping their chances of survival alive.
MMUST, who had lost all of their matches this season, went to Nairobi with the pressure to win and revitalize their season.
Homeboyz scored first with a penalty from Martin Juma, but MMUST’s Timothy Mmasi responded with a penalty of his own, tying the score at 3-3.
Mmasi added another penalty, giving MMUST a 6-3 lead at halftime. Felix Wamocho and MMUST’s captain Collins Ngoko contributed a penalty and a try, respectively, to increase the score to 14-3.
Caleb Owino’s try, converted successfully, extended MMUST’s lead to 21-3. Homeboyz scored a try, but it was too late to make a difference.
MMUST remain undefeated against Homeboyz, having also beaten them in the previous season and now move to seven points.
