In form South Coast pirates will be seeking to extend their winning run this weekend when they play host to Zetech Oaks in a KRU Championship round seven fixture slated for Seacrest Grounds, Diani.
The 3 Pm kickoff match, will see the students make their maiden trip to the coast after promotion to the league and will be keen to end their poor run, having won only one game.
A win for the Kevin Amiani led Pirates will cement their playoffs position as they are currently second with 25 points. Pirates who are on winning streak after recording three consecutive wins (Western Bulls, Shamas,UOE) will head to the match as favourites.
Amiani has released his squad that will bee on duty on Saturday, making few changes. The trio of Timothy Osaji, Idd Ganguma, Evans mwakio retains their shirts as front rows ,Collins Kabayo makes a return at number 4 and will partner In-form Elias Gitonga in the second row tasks. The leadership duo of skipper Cliphod Odhiambo and Charles Okwemba maintains their role at six, and seven respectively.
Ibrahim Nyongesa will start as eigthman. Sammy Kimakwa has been tasked with play control position and will start as scrumhalf replacing regular Ali Rashid who will now play as Fly half.
Clinton Owe,( debut) and Mwinyi Juma makes their start on the wings ahead of injured Steven Bosire and Charles Tendwa.
The midfield department has been assigned to Hajj Mohamed and Anthony Abonyo, Kenneth Omaset will man fullback.
The bench has Jimmy Wekesa,Peter Ghati, David Watts,Clinton Machero, Richard Amaye and Ken Wambua.
Ahead of the match, pirates Leading top scorer Halfback Ali Rashid who has crossed over the whitewash five times this season has issued a rallying call to clubs faithful to turn up in large numbers.
“I want to call upon our supporters to show up in large numbers and support the boys, we will entertain them and win for them, we are at a stage where we need them more than before,” he told Scrummage Africa.
Rashid who has featured in all matches for pirates this season also expressed confidence of qualifying in the top tier (Kenya Cup) next season.
“As players we believe we can achieve our goal, we will just take the last season heart break an focus more ,win each game and qualify at the end of the season “
