KRU Championship: Shamas, Nondies and Bulls win, Impala end bad run

Shamas Foundation picked the first win of the season as they edged Kabarak University 13-11 in the third match of the season played on Saturday.

Ham Namisi scored Shamas first try and converted for a 7-0 lead after just five minutes of play.

His opposite number Antoine Mwangi responded at the other end drilling in a penalty which came in the 20th minute.

The visitors led for the first time when Victor Chege scored a try that saw his side take an 8-7 to the break.

In the second half, Namisi and Chege exchanged penalties for the scoreline to change to 11-10 in favour of the visitors.

Willy Onchari’s stoppage time drop goal saw Shamas win the match grabbing four points from the win.

Daystar Falcons picked the second win in this campaign after a 45-15 victory over Zetech University.

Patrick Odongo and James Masava bagged a brace each while Augustine Owino, Floyd Wabwire had a try each. Clinton Kioko and John Oliele added more points off the boot for Daystar win.

League leaders Nondies ended Kisumu RFC impressive start picking a 29-10 win at the Ngong race course.

Impala Saracens managed to snap their two-match losing streak with a resounding 41-17 win over USIU.

Another former Kenya Cup side Western Bulls whipped Eldoret 34-19.
