Kenya 7s Dubai 7s journey ends with Fiji loss

Kenya 7s journey at the Dubai 7 came to an end after they lost 21-17 loss to Fiji on the ninth place semis played at the Sevens Stadium.

For the third time in the tournament, Kenya 7s threw away a half-time lead. In this match, Damian McGrath charges led 17-7 at half-time.

It was after Kevin Wekesa crossed over for a converted try in the sixth minute to cancel Jeremala Matana’s first minute converted try.

Dennis Abukuse grabbed his second try in the world 7s Series for Kenya to lead 12-7.

Nelson Oyoo sealed Kenya 7s lead by crossing over for a try in the eighth minute.

In the second half, Waisea Nacuqu and Pilipo Bukayaro landed two more converted tries for a 21-17 victory.

Finish will head to the ninth-place playoffs as  Kenya shift focus on the Cape Town 7s.
