Ominde, Okoth back as Oilers make seven changes for Quins clash

Menengai Oilers head coach Gibson Weru has made seven changes to the side ahead of their second Kenya Cup clash against Kenya Harlequins set Saturday 3 at the RFUEA.

Geoffrey Ominde and John Okoth who were part of the Kenya Simbas fold in the World Cup Repechage are back on the team, Ominde starting at flyhalf with Okoth taking the inside centre role, and will pair with Steve Arunga who starts at 13.

Another change in the halfback department sees Sam Onsomu replacing Andrew Odero at scrumhalf.

The pack has four changes, with another Kenya Simba Edward Mwaura getting his first after the Repechage tournament at loosehead to replace Francis Atiti. Desterious Ifedha comes in for Vincent Mwikali at tighthead with Hillary Malweyi retaining his spot at hooker.

Clinton Odhiambo comes in for Eric Miheso to pair Ibrahim Ayoo in second row. Nickson Ochieng replaces Tyson Maina at blindside and completes the loose forward together with Brian Ndirangu and Chrispin Shitundo at openside flank and eight respectively.

Beldad Ogeta moves from the openside wing to blind wing to replace Roy Nandwa, with Timothy Omela who started at centre the previous weekend, moving into the openside wing. Davis Nyaundi completes the back three at fullback.

Wallace Onyango, Austin Sikutwa and Coleman Were are among those named to start as replacements.

Menengai Oilers have dominated this fixture winning four of their last five meetings in Kenya Cup.
