Impala Floodlit Defending Champions KCB Rugby have booked a place in the semi-final of the competition after edging Kenya Harlequin 14-10 in a midweek encounter played on Wednesday at Impala Club.
This match was to be played on Saturday 29 October but had to be postponed due to lighting issues on Saturday night. The matches were then pushed to Wednesday.
KCB lead at the breath
In the match, the bankers managed a try and a penalty while Quins landed a converted try for the latter to lead 8-7 in a cagey first half. In the final half, the bankers added two penalties while Quins had one penalty.
Nondies have also qualified for the last four after a 33-7 win over hosts Impala Saracens in a late kick-off match. The match had been played to halftime on Saturday before it was postponed.
At the time it was postponed, Nondies were leading 15-0. In the final half played this Wednesday, Impala managed a converted try but the try served as a wake-up call for Nondies who added a penalty and a converted try for a 25-7 lead.
An unconverted try and penalty saw the rangers reach the last four thanks to a 33-7 win.
Kenya Harlequin and Impala drop to the Plate semis where they join Nakuru RFC and Strathmore Leos who were eliminated in the quarterfinal stage.
KCB and Nondies have qualified for the semis. Other teams that had qualified for the semis include Menengai Oilers and Blak Blad.
