Kakamega 7s quarterfinal pairings have been confirmed ahead of day two of the competition scheduled for the Bull Ring.
Day two of the Kakamega 7s will also see Champions crowned with this being the final day of the National Sevens Circuit. KCB, Menengai Oilers and Strathmore Leos are hoping to win the title.
Oilers sixth quarterfinal
Menengai Oilers who are chasing their maiden title have been drawn against Catholic Monks, playing in the quarters for the second time. This will be Oilers’ sixth consecutive quarterfinal this season while it’s Monks’ second appearance in the last eight.
The second quarterfinal has defending Champions KCB rugby who will square it out with Homeboyz. The bankers won Pool D after wins over Kabras RFC, Daystar Falcons and Kabarak University. Homebozy came second in pool C winning just one match.
Menengai Oilers and KCB rugby are scheduled to face off in the semi-final should they win their quarters. The two are hoping to win the National Sevens Circuit title with Oilers chasing their first title.
Strathmore Leos eyeing title
Strathmore Leos also chasing the title topped their pool to book a quarter-final berth against MMUST Rugby Club. MMUST were second in pool A while Strathmore Leos won pool B.
Kabras RFC and Nakuru RFC will renew their rivalry in the fourth quarterfinal match. Nakuru RFC are set to make their second appearance in the quarters this season.
The matches will be preceded by the Challenge Trophy competition.
