Kenya Simbas Head Coach Paul Odera has recalled Collins Injera and Vincent Onyala to his squad that will feature in the Rugby Africa Cup final scheduled for Sunday at 22:00 hours EAT.

Injera assumes the blind wing role with Derrick Ashihundu dropping out of the matchday squad.  Onyala is back in the midfield and pushes Bryceson Adaka who scored against Algeria to the bench. Onyala picked an ankle injury against Uganda and was rested against Algeria same as Injera who had an abductor strain.

Quarterfinal and semi-final man of the Match Samuel Asati retains his place at scrum-half with Dominic Coulson also keeping his place as the fly-half. The two will be starting together for the seventh time in a row.

Strathmore Leos’ Bethuel Anami continues to enjoy playtime at number eight and will have George Nyambua and Dan Sikuta as his flankers.

In the second row, the coach has retained Thomas Okeyo and George Nyambua with Patrick Ouko, Eugene Sifuna, and Ephraim Oduor leading from the front row.

Commenting on the match, Odera said:  “Credit to the medical team, Steve Mankone and Dr. James Ondiege who have done a fantastic job with the players. It has been a case of less is more yesterday we had an SnC session in the gym and then we had the captain’s run this morning.”

A win will see the Simbas head to the Rugby World Cup for the first time in history.
