KCB select Amonde, Muhanga for Dala 7s

KCB Rugby have included former Kenya 7s skipper Andrew Amonde in the squad that will feature in the Dala 7s scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Amonde, who has worked as an assistant coach in the previous three rounds, will make his first appearance on the National Sevens Circuit since 2019. Amonde was instrumental in their 2019 National campaign, winning Dala, Kakamega 7s, Christie 7s, and Driftwood 7s to claim the title with Bankers.

Brian Wahinya has also been called up after being left out of the Kenya Simbas team that travelled to France for the Rugby Africa Cup 15s.

Cabrine Muhanga who had a brilliant Kenya Cup debut in 2021 as KCB beat Kenya Harlequin 35-32 in a Kenya Cup match played in March 2021 has been handed the first chance in the shorter version.

Elvis Olukusi and Elphas Adunga return to the squad, joining Bob Muhati, Michael Wanjala, Mike Kimwele, Isaac Njoroge, and Shaban Ahmed in their fourth event of the season.

KCB Rugby have been Pooled alongside Strathmore Leos, Impala Saracens and Blak Blad.

KCB won the 2019 title after defeating Menengai Oilers 30-5. The bankers scored six tries to easily defeat the Oilers. Davis Chenge, Jacob Ojee, Andrew Amonde, Michael Wanjala, Vincent Onyala, and Levy Amunga all scored tries to help the bankers win.
