The Driftwood 7s will enter the knockout stage on Sunday at Mombasa Sports Club with eight sides still in the race for the Cup title.
Pool A winners Homeboyz Rugby Club have booked a date against Kabras RFC in the first quarterfinal. The 2016 and 2018 National Sevens Circuit Champions won Pool A with a perfect record, returning to the last eight after falling out at the Christie 7s.
2017 7s Champions Kabras RFC, on the other hand, finished second in Pool B to head to the quarterfinals for the second time in a row.
Mwamba Rugby Club will face Kenya Harlequins in the second quarterfinal match. Mwamba topped Pool D with a perfect record, while Quins finished second in Pool C. This will be Kulabu’s third consecutive Cup quarterfinal participation, while Quins will be making their second appearance.
The third Cup quarterfinal has defending Champions KCB Rugby paired against Strathmore Leos. It will be a repeat of the Christie 7s and Kabeberi 7s finals. The two sides have will be making the third consecutive appearance in the quarters.
The final match of the quarters will see Menengai Oilers play against Nondies. Nondies are making the debut appearance in the quarters this season while Nakuru are in the quarters for the third time.
The matches will be preceded by the Challenge Trophy.
