Strathmore Leos Philemon Olang was crowned as the Most Valuable Player at the Christie 7s tournament held at RFUEA Grounds on Saturday and Sunday.
Olang played an instrumental role as the students went on to win the Christie 7s. The Students defeated KCB Rugby 15-10 in a match that Olang scored the opening try.
He becomes the second Strathmore Leos player to win the award after Brunson Madigu won the MVP and Most Promising award at Kabeberi 7s.
This weekend’s Most Promising Player award went Daystar Falcons speedster Patrick Odongo.
Odongo also won the top try scorer award having landed eight tries this weekend as Daystar went on to finish 10th at the Christie 7s.
Last weekend, he had a debut to remember as he scored five tries for the students. He has a total of 13 tries after two events of the 2022 National 7s Circuit campaign.
