Christie 7s defending Champions KCB Rugby, Mwamba Rugby Club and Strathmore Leos had a perfect record on day one of the 55th edition.

Impala Saracens, Kenya Harlequins also picked points that ensured that they will be in the cup quarters on Sunday.

KCB once again topped Pool A beating Nakuru RFC 21-10. The defeat has locked Nakuru RFC out of the Cup quarters for the first time this season.

Nakuru have finished third in the Pool with five points while KCB have nine points. Michael Wanjala bagged a brace in the win with Geoffrey Okwatch adding one more try for a 21-10 win for the bankers.

Paul Murunga led Kenya Harlequins to the first Cup quarterfinal this season as they beat Jumia Pay Pirates 27-5 to move to seven points in Pool A. Wanyore have five points in the Pool.

In Pool B, Strathmore Leos also topped their pool with a 100% win record. Leos beat their fellow students Daystar 24-7 to top their pool with nine points.

Brunson Madigu (2), Philemon Olang scored for the Louis Kisia charges to finish top. They were joined in the quarters by Impala Saracens who beat Blak Blad 33-14.

Nondies managed the second win of the day beating Kabras RFC who had beaten Menengai Oilers and MMUST in the opening games. This saw three teams-Kabras, Menengai Oilers and Nondies end the day tied on seven points each.

In Pool D Mwamba had a 100% perfect record as they beat Homeboyz 19-12 to finish top.

Catholic Monks and Western Bulls played to a 19-19 draw with Bulls.
