Western Region Nationwide side Kibabii University Rugby Team has received a boost for their next season campaign, after securing a sponsorship deal with Fidelity Insurance.

The sponsorship, courtesy of Minet (K) Insurance Brokers will cover up to Sh. 500,000 and Sh. 200,000 worth of permanent disablement and medical expenses respectively to the Technical Managers; and Sh. 250,000 and Sh. 100,000 to cover permanent disablement and medical expenses respectively for 34 players, effectively 1st July 2022.

The Nationwide newbies had a stellar debut campaign last season, where they reached the Western Region semi-final, narrowly losing 21-18 to Bungoma RFC.

Speaking to The Scrummage, Team Manager Meshack Nyambane said the deal comes at a perfect time, and will play a vital role in their quest to play in the Kenya Rugby Union Championship league.

“Last season we were affected by alot of injuries. The deal will compliment the University medical expenses. It will also allow the team to sign more quality players,” he said.
