Kenya 7s dropped to the 13-th place semis after losing 26-14 to Scotland in the ninth-place semis played on Saturday.
The loss means Shujaa will be back in action on Sunday to play Japan in the 13th place semis. Robbie Fergusson opened the scores for the Scotts before Herman Humwa pulled back with a converted try for a 7-7.
Bush Mwale added the second and final try for Shujaa. Scotland ran away with it scoring through tries from Jamie Farndale, Femi Sofolarin and Kaleem Barreto for a 26-14.
New Zealand, Spain and South Africa won their matches to proceed to the ninth place semis.
