Alvin Buffa Otieno among trio confirmed to have joined KCB

Kenya Cup Champions KCB Rugby have confirmed the arrival of three players ahead of the 2021/22 season scheduled to commence late in November.

The Club has confirmed the arrival of Kenya 7s Star Alvin Buffa Otieno. Buffa joins the den from Kenya Cup side Homeboyz Rugby where he won the Enterprise Cup title and National 7s Circuit.

Before joining Homeboyz Buffa played for Kakamega High School won two KSSSA 7s, two KSSSA 15s and two East Africa 15s titles. He later moved to Western Bulls to kick start his club career.

Buffa has played 58 matches for Kenya 7s and has scored 22 tries which totals 110 points for Innocent Simiyu coached side. He was part of the squad that won Singapore 7s in 2016 and the squad that played in the 2020 Olympics.

“Ladies and gentlemen, let’s welcome Alvin “Buffa, Buff Daddy, Water Buff buff” Otieno to the Den. Karibu sana Buff Daddy,” KCB announced.

The bankers have also signed Bob Muhati from Homeboyz ahead of the new season. Muhati made his first appearance during the Safari 7s Tournament as KCB finished eighth.

He is set to boost the midfield department and will compete for starting slots with the likes of Levy Amunga, George Maranga, Peter Kilonzo, Brian Omondi and Esau Otieno.

The Club has also snapped up Blak Blad’s dependable halfback Brian Wahinya. Wahinya who is in South Africa for the tour with Kenya Simbas will battle with Michael Wanjala, Samuel Asati, Marlin Mukolwe for the number nine jersey.

Bramwell Kilwake and Elvis Olukusi have also joined the Bankers from Nakuru RFC and they featured in the Safari 7s tournament.
