Kenya 7s winless in Hamilton after France loss

Kenya 7s failed to pick a single win the Hamilton 7s Group stages as they lost to France 26-21 in the final match played at FMG Stadium.

France had a strong start with Nelson Epée’s quick fire tries in the first and second minute being converted by Paulin Riva for a 14-0 lead.

Kenya responded with tries from Anthony Omondi and Alvin Otieno and the former converted them for a 14-14 tie. Epée however returned to the scoresheet with a his third of the day and saw France take a five-point lead to the break.

In the final half, Riva stretched France lead with the fourth try that saw them lead 26-14.  Brian Tanga then came off the bench to score the final try for Kenya.

Kenya who drop to the Challenge Trophy had earlier lost 21-7 to Fiji in a match that Tanga scored in.  Shujaa finish bottom in the Pool with three points.
