Kenya Lionesses romped to a second consecutive win in the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup Performance Division after thrashing Madagascar Women 57-0 at RFUEA Grounds.

The emphatic win saw the Lionesses set up an exciting title decider against defending champions South Africa Women on Sunday.

It took the Kenya Lionesses just four minutes to cross the whitewash, with Nelly Chikombe fending of her marker before bursting through for the opening try that handed Kenya a 5-0 lead.

Moments later, the Lionesses stretched their advantage when Stella Wafula broke down the right wing to score under the posts, with the conversion sailing through for a 12-0 lead.

Phoebe Otieno had a try held up in the 10th minute as the Lionesses continued to camp inside Madagascar’s half, though several scoring opportunities were lost due to handling errors and obstruction.

Kenya were later reduced to 14 players but remained undeterred, with Marvel Oswago eventually crashing over from close range to extend the lead.

The third try came in the 28th minute when veteran Sheila Chajira powered over to hand Kenya a 17-0 cushion.

Faith Livoi then peeled off a maul to dive over and stretch the Lionesses’ advantage to 22-0 before Sinaida Mokaya slotted in a penalty for a 25-0 lead heading into the break.
