Uganda Rugby Premiership quarters:Pirates, Heathens and KOBS win in 1st leg

The Uganda Rugby Premiership quarterfinals got underway on 16th May with a mix of commanding performances and closely contested battles, as teams took the first step in the race for semifinal qualification.

In Quarterfinal 1, Heathens secured a narrow 06–00 victory over Victoria Sharks in a tightly controlled defensive contest.

Both sides struggled to break through disciplined defensive lines, but the Heathens showed superior game management, capitalising on limited opportunities to take a crucial away win in the series following two second half penalties.

The most dominant result of the round came in QF2, where Black Pirates produced a ruthless attacking display to overpower Walukuba Barbarians 48–06.

The Pirates were in full flight from the start, punishing errors and stretching the Barbarians across the field with clinical finishing.

In QF3, KCB Kobs showed their experience in a hard-fought 23–12 win over Impis while Buffaloes edged Plascon Mongers 22–18 in a tense encounter.

Both sides traded blows throughout the match, but Buffaloes showed composure to snatch a crucial win in a tightly balanced contest.
