Mang’u School reclaimed their home tournament, the Mang’u Opens, with a 19-3 victory over Koelel Academy on Sunday.
Flanker Chris Thairu was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player for his standout performance

Wilson Mbuiki, Evans Leshao, and George Dacha crossed over for Mang’u’s tries, while Peter Ndung’u and Samuel Gachau added the conversions to seal the win.
This victory allowed Mang’u to reclaim the title, which was won by Kisii School last year.
In the semifinals, Leshao scored a brace, and Ndung’u and Dacha each added a try in their dominant 36-0 win over Pioneer.
Ndung’u kicked two conversions, with Asaph Kiptoo and Samuel Gachau each adding one.

Koelel Academy secured their place in the final after eliminating Kagumo with a 31-3 victory.
In the quarterfinals, Mang’u thrashed Gaichanjiru 46-0. Fullmore Illah bagged a brace, while Nyaga Brian, Leshao, Dacha, Mbalo Derryl, and Wayne Mwangi each dotted down.
Asaph Kiptoo completed a hat-trick of conversions, and Ndung’u added another.
