Former Kenya Cup champions KCB Rugby extended their blistering start to the 2024 season under head coach Oliver Mang’eni with a commanding 43-8 victory over Strathmore Leos at the KCB Sports Club.
The win secured the Jerry Olola Cup, a match played in memory of Olola, who represented both teams before his passing in 2023.

The Bankers opened the scoring through Kenyan international youngster Andy Cole Omolo, who embraced his new captaincy role with a stellar performance. Lionel Ajeliti added the extras to make it 7-0.
Omolo, inspired by his leadership duties, soon added his second try, although the conversion went astray.
Strathmore responded with a penalty, but KCB’s Wilhite Mususi extended their lead with a well-executed try, converted by Ajeliti, to take the scores to 19-3.
Austin Sikutwa became the first backline player on the scoresheet, sealing a bonus point try that sent KCB into the break leading 24-3.

In the second half, Winfred Waswa touched down, with Isaac Njoroge adding the conversion for a 31-3 lead. Strathmore managed an unconverted try to narrow the gap to 31-8.
However, Sikutwa secured his second try of the game before Manaseh Oduor’s converted try rounded off a dominant 43-8 win for KCB.
Meanwhile, at the Racecourse, Nondescripts extended their perfect start to the season with a 24-8 victory over Nakuru, handing the Wanyore their third consecutive loss of the campaign.
