Australia 7s squad for the Paris Olympics has been confirmed, as they hunt for their first Olympic medal.

Coach John Manenti has named a 12-player squad, with two reserve players set to travel to France.

Standout Super Rugby flyers Corey Toole and Mark Nawaqanitawase have been added to the squad. Toole returns to the program after making his name during the title-winning World Series campaign in 2021-22, while Nawaqanitawase featured at the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

Captain Nick Malouf and vice-captain Henry Hutchison are set to become three-time Olympians. Nathan Lawson, Dietrich Roache, and James Turner also return for their second Olympic Games after competing in Tokyo, where the team finished seventh.

Josh Turner and Michael Icely have been named as the travelling reserves, ready to step in if any of the selected players face injury or other issues.

Notably, Wallabies legend Michael Hooper announced his retirement on Sunday after missing out on selection for the Olympic squad.

Australia will face Argentina, Samoa, and Kenya in their pool, with matches kicking off on July 24.
