KCB Rugby delivered a commanding 60–16 victory over MMUST RFC at the KCB Sports Club to maintain third place on the Kenya Cup standings.
The hosts struck early, with Elvis Olukusi crossing over in the sixth minute before Brian Wahinya added the conversion for a 7–0 lead. Andycole Omolo soon added the second try, once again converted by Wahinya just after the 11th minute to extend the advantage.
KCB Rugby dominance
Flavian Otiyo responded for MMUST with a penalty, but Sheldon Kahi restored KCB’s dominance with a try that Wahinya converted for a 21–3 lead. Omolo then completed his brace, while MMUST managed another penalty to move to six points.
KCB’s momentum continued as Omolo sealed his hat-trick and Bob Muhati also crossed the whitewash, with Wahinya converting to stretch the lead further.

Desmond Kirwa grabbed a try for MMUST, converted by Otiyo, to narrow the score to 38–13. After the break, Veron Kaburu added a penalty to make it 38–16, briefly threatening a response from the visitors.
However, just before the hour mark, Felix Ojow, introduced from the bench, dotted down, with Levy Amunga adding the extras. MMUST’s hopes were further dented when Alvin Maulo was sent to the sin bin, a setback the bankers capitalized on by adding three unconverted tries, including a brace from Mike Wekesa, to seal the emphatic win.
Meanwhile, at the Strathmore Grounds, Strathmore Leos edged Kisumu RFC 43–39 in a thrilling encounter.
