Nakuru RFC finally picked their maiden win of the season, edging Nondies 32-30 in a tightly contested match played at the Race Course on Saturday.
Wanyore trailed 15-13 at the break but showed more intent in the final half to snap their two-match losing streak in the Kenya Cup.

Javan Otieno opened the scoring with a penalty after five minutes before Nakuru grabbed their first try through Ike Amaya in the ninth minute, with Javan converting for a 13-0 lead.
Tony Fidens pulled one back with a penalty after 16 minutes of play, and Stormy Odhiambo added a try to bring Nondies closer.
Frank Mutuku then crossed over for Nondies’ second try, which Fidens converted just before halftime for a 15-13 advantage.

In the second half, Nakuru RFC conceded a yellow card, and Ryan Odua capitalized to score, stretching Nondies’ lead to 20-13. John Mark Awiti added another for a 25-13 cushion.
Felix Okoth sparked Nakuru’s fightback with a try that pushed them to 18 points, but Nondies responded with Odhiambo’s second try to move to 30 points.
Okoth returned with his second of the day, and after the conversion, Nakuru closed the gap to 30-25. Chrissant Ojwang then dived over to level matters at 30-30 before Javan Otieno’s conversion sealed a dramatic 32-30 victory for Wanyore.
