Kabras RFC unleash total supremacy over Impala, crossing century mark

Kabras RFC delivered a dream ending to their Kenya Cup campaign by demolishing Impala RFC 123–0 at the Kakamega Showground.

The result stands as Kabras’ biggest-ever win over Impala in 15 Kenya Cup meetings and marks their 13th straight victory in the fixture.

Settled Kabras RFC

Kabras settled early into the game with two back-to-back tries from Jeanson Misoga and Barry Robinson, after they went over the whitewash to score. Erick Cantona was sure with boots in both tries after he added the extras to send Kabras to a 14-0 lead.

Youngster Rayvon Ambale, who was making his senior Kenya Cup debut, would enter the score sheet minutes later, after a powerful dash from the wing from almost his own half, to score  behind the post. Erick Cantona having an easy-angle conversion would add the extras for a 21-0 Kabras lead.

Another two quicks tries from the sugarmen from Jeanson Misoga and Derrick Ashihundu would add more misery to Impala’s Kenya Cup run, as Erick Cantona added the extras, this time beating a tight angle for Ashihundu try, for 35-0 Kabras lead.

Ambale, who was having a fantastic afternoon, would double his tally as he dived over the whitewash near the corner. Cantona would miss the conversion for the first time, as his kick bounced at the post, for a 40-0 Kabras lead.

Eugines Sifuna with a winger-like run from his own half amid crowd cheers would enter the scoresheet minutes later as Cantona made amends to his earlier conversion to add the extras, Kabras surging forward 47-0.

William Mwanji thought he had scored some moments later after he outpaced Impala’s defence to go over the tryline but the referee had spotted a knockon infringement from the same player, and cancelled the try.

That would not matter however minutes later as Mathias Osimbo scored, with Cantona adding the extras for a 54-0 Kabras lead as the referee signalled for HT.

Derick Ashihundu would score straight from kickoff, as Jeanson Misoga rose high to collect the kick, danced past Impala’s defence to set Ashihundu who doubled his tally. Cantona resumed his duties with a conversion for a 61-0 Kabras lead.

Asuman Mugerwa would stretch Kabras lead further as he collected off a scrum shuffle to power past his defender with a powerful leg drive to score at the corner. Cantona missed the conversion as Kabras lead stretched to 66-0.

Jackson Siketa, replacing the injured Rayvon Ambale who was rushed for a HIA, had not even finished passing coached instructions to his team mates, when he collected the ball, his dancing feet and steps, leaving Impala’s defence on th floor, to score. Cantona added the extras for a 73-0 Kabras lead.

It was raining tries at the forest as Siketa, returning to the scoreboard minutes later, and Patrick Lumumba, entering the scored board for the first time, would put Kabras further in to the lead with Cantona adding the extras for both tries, the scores shifting to 87-0.

Ambale who returned to the pitch replacing Erick Cantona sealed his hatrick moments later. He however missed the conversion, with Kabras sniffing a century, scored reading 92-0.

Rayvon Ambale, who having a man-of-the-moment eased past Impala’s defence before setting his youngster partner Ray Maruti, who dived down the post to scored.

Maruti converted his own try, as Kabras lead 99-0, one point shy of a century.

Substitute David Bunduki would enter the scorers party room, as his powerful run proved to hot to stop, as dashed over the whites, Kabras hitting the century mark, for a 104-0 lead, as Ambale missed the extras.

Another Substitute Teddy Akala entered the scores sheets, as he collected the ball from Ashihundu, to score at the corner. Ashihundu missed the extras as Kabras lead 109-0.

Ambale capped his debut with a five-star performance, as registered his fourth try of the game, after an overlap at the wing.

Alfred Orege quickly shifted to Osimbo who offleaded to Ambale who rushed to score at the post. He converted his own try as Kabras now lead 116-0.

Ray Maruti would seal Kabras win later, as scored off a pass from Patrick Lumumba. Ambale added the extras as Kabras registered their second biggest post covid win with a 123-0.
