Kenya 7s team has unveiled its final 25-man squad for the 2026 season, with preparations set to kick off in February.
Coach Kevin Wambua has retained several key players from last season, including Kevin Wekesa, Brian Tanga, Jackson Siketi, Samuel Asati, George Ooro, Festus Shiasi, Vincent Onyala, Floyd Wabwire, Dennis Abukuse, Antony Omondi, Nygel Amaitsa, Christant Ojwang, and Patrick Odongo.

The squad also welcomes exciting new talent, with youngsters Rayvon Ambale, Daniel Kipchirchir, Eugene Ojiambo, Victor Ochieng, Felix Odhiambo, Clinton Amukachi, Arnold Agonda, and David Nyangige earning their call-ups.
The announcement comes shortly after World Rugby confirmed that Kenya will host the opening leg of the HSBC SVNS 2—a historic milestone for both the nation and the East African region.
Scheduled for 14–15 February 2026, the Nairobi tournament will kick off the second season of the restructured global sevens circuit, bringing premier international rugby action to Kenyan soil and positioning the country prominently on the global rugby map.

Kenya will be the first stop on the three-leg HSBC SVNS 2 calendar, with subsequent rounds set for Brazil and Uruguay. The Nairobi leg will feature high-octane competition in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
In the Men’s Division, confirmed teams include Kenya, USA, Uruguay, and Germany. These four sides will compete for early momentum in the promotion race, promising thrilling matches and a showcase of emerging global rugby talent.
