The 2025 Eric Shirley Shield kicked off with strong opening statements across both the Eastern and Western Conferences as teams staked early claims for dominance in Kenya’s reserve-tier rugby competition.

Nondescripts II top the Eric Shirley Eastern Conference after a hard-fought opening round. KCB II follow closely in second place with five points after a 28–0 walkover to stay level on points with the leaders.

KU Blak Blad II sit third after clinching a 22–17 victory, earning four points, while Strathmore Leos II are fourth with one point from their narrow defeat.

Impala II, Daystar Falcons II, and Kenya Harlequin II round out the bottom of the standings, with the latter yet to kick off their campaign.

Kabras Sugar II wasted no time showing their intent, routing their opponents 78–3 to take maximum points and a +75 point difference—the largest margin across both conferences.
