The 2025/26 KRU Championship season began with Mwamba RFC, Catholic Monks, and Zetech Oaks all grabbing bonus-point victories to assert early dominance in the second-tier league.
Mwamba RFC top the standings after a commanding 37–6 win in their opener, collecting the maximum five points and establishing a healthy +31 points difference.
Catholic Monks sit second, also on five points, following a 28–0 following a walkover against Western Bulls. Zetech Oaks complete the trio of perfect starters after edging a lively contest 41–38, picking up a crucial bonus point in the process.

JKUAT Cougars and Homeboyz RFC both secured opening-day wins but missed out on bonus points, placing them fourth and fifth respectively with four points each.
USIU Martials managed two points despite their defeat, courtesy of a losing bonus point and scoring four tries. Mean Machine have a, point \ Mombasa RFC, NYS Spades, and Western Bulls all suffered losses, with Bulls dropping to negative points after incurring disciplinary deductions.
SC Pirates and Kisii RFC are yet to kick off their campaigns and remain without points.
