The Eric Shirley Shield (ESS) returned with high-scoring encounters across both conferences.
In the Eastern Conference, Nondescripts II delivered the biggest statement of the weekend, cruising to a 60-5 win over Impala RFC II.
Impala managed a lone try late in the match, but the result had long been sealed.
KU Blak Blad II also opened their campaign on a positive note, edging Strathmore Leos II 22-17 in a tightly contested varsity derby.
Two matches, however, did not take place on the field. KCB Rugby II were awarded a 28-0 walkover after Daystar Falcons II failed to honour the fixture.
