Championship: Mwamba, Homeboyz, and JKUAT kick off Season with wins

The 2025/26 KRU Championship season delivered intensity and drama on opening weekend, with Mwamba RFC, Homeboyz RFC, and JKUAT Cougars emerging victorious in hard-fought encounters.

Mwamba RFC produced a dominant performance at the GOAN Institute Ground, powering to a 37–13 win over newly promoted NYS Spades.

At the RFUEA Grounds, Homeboyz RFC marked their return to competitive action with a thrilling 31–28 win against Mean Machine.

In Juja, JKUAT Cougars held firm to secure a 24–10 victory over Mombasa RFC.

Elsewhere, Catholic Monks were awarded a 28–00 walkover against Western Bulls, while a late thriller saw Zetech Oaks edge USIU Martials 41–38.

The fixture between South Coast Pirates and Kisii RFC was postponed.
