Kenya Lionesses and South Africa will renew their rivalry in the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s final at 4:30 p.m. after both sides won their respective semifinals at the RFUEA Grounds.

The two teams last faced each other at the Safari 7s, where the Lionesses emerged victorious to reclaim the title.

In the semifinal clash, the Lady Cranes struck first, bulldozing their way to the try-line as Peace Lekuru dived over for the opening score, giving Uganda a 5–0 lead.

The Lionesses responded almost immediately, earning a penalty and quickly shifting the ball out wide to Freshia Oduor, who sprinted through to score the equaliser. Oduor later broke through the defence once again, touching down to give Kenya a 10–5 lead.

In the second half, Lekuru found space on the left flank and scored her second try, tying the match at 10–10 after a missed conversion.

However, Naomi Amuguni produced a decisive line break in the final minute, crossing the try-line to seal a 17–10 victory for the Lionesses.

Cecil Afrika’s charges started strongly, scoring three tries in the opening half. Nadine Roos set up Simamkele Namba for the opener, which was converted for a 7–0 lead. Maria Tshiremba added another try to extend the advantage to 12–0, before Zintle Mpupha made it 17–0 at the break.

South Africa added more points in the final half to reach 29, and despite receiving a late yellow card, they held firm defensively to secure their spot in the final.
