Kenya Lionesses, Uganda, South Africa and Madagascar have all secured places in the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s semifinals set for Sunday afternoon at the RFUEA Grounds.
In the first semifinal, South Africa will face Madagascar, while the second will feature an East African derby as Kenya Lionesses take on Uganda.
Kenya Lionesses 31–12 Zimbabwe
Kenya booked their semifinal slot after defeating Zimbabwe 31–12.
The Lionesses opened the scoring when Freshia Oduor pounced on a loose ball to touch down.
Nelly Chikombe, who had impressed on day one, showcased her pace to score on the left wing, with Grace Okulo converting.
Oduor later sliced through the defence twice to complete her brace, giving Kenya a 19–0 halftime lead.
Oduor completed her hat-trick early in the second half before Zimbabwe pulled one try back. Phoebe Akinyi added another try to push Kenya into the 30s.
South Africa 48–0 Ghana
Defending champions South Africa cruised into the semis with a dominant 48–0 victory over Ghana.
SA opened strongly, scoring an early five-pointer before Maria Tshiremba crossed twice in quick succession. Shiniqwa Lamprecht added the fourth, and Tshiremba sealed her hat-trick to make it 29–0 at halftime.

After the break, Ayanda Malinga touched down to extend the lead, and Leigh Fortuin powered through the defence for a 43–0 scoreline. Malinga then sealed the comprehensive win with the final try of the match.
Madagascar 17–7 Zambia
Madagascar advanced after edging Zambia 17–7.
The Lady Makis took a slim 5–0 lead into the break. Olivia Hanitriniaina stretched their advantage with a converted try early in the second half.
Zambia responded through Lushomo Liwena, but Oliviane Andriatsilavina’s corner try ensured Madagascar’s progression into the last four.
Uganda 31–12 Tunisia
Uganda secured a 31–12 victory over Tunisia to complete the semifinal lineup.
The Lady Cranes opened with a converted try before Tunisia equalised at 7–7.
Samiya Ayikoru struck next for Uganda, and Peace Lekuru added another just before halftime for a 21–7 lead.
Teenager Alaa Hidri pulled one back for Tunisia, but Yvonne Najjuma quickly restored Uganda’s momentum after spotting a gap at the base of a ruck.
Lekuru later sealed the win with the final try of the match.
