Floyd Wabwire struck twice late on to hand Kenya Morans the Zambezi 7s Challenge title following a 14-0 win over Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club.
The final was the fourth meeting between the two sides in 2025, with the Morans having won two of the previous three encounters, Kenya Morans 19-12 Zimbabwe, Kenya Morans 27–7 Zimbabwe at the Safari 7s, and Zimbabwe 21-19 Kenya Morans at the Africa Men’s 7s.

This clash carried extra weight as prize money was at stake. Zimbabwean outlets reported a total prize pool of US$14,500 (approx. KShs 1,880,925), distributed as follows: US$5,000 (approx. KShs 648,250) for the Men’s Cup winners, US$5,000 (approx. KShs 648,250) for the Women’s Cup winners, US$1,500 (approx. KShs 194,475) for both the Men’s and Women’s runners-up, and US$500 (approx. KShs 64,925) each for the Plate winners and the Men’s and Women’s International MVP awards.
Both sides were unbeaten in their opening four matches and were eager to finish on a high.

The heavens opened, and the first half turned into a cagey affair with neither side breaching the other’s defence, ending 0-0 at the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern until the 11th minute when Wabwire broke through on the left to score and give Morans a 7-0 lead after the conversion.
He returned moments later to strike again on the same flank, with Rayvone Ambale adding the extras to seal a 14-0 win and secure the title for the Morans.
