KCB Rugby produced a dominant display to thrash Kenya Harlequin 64-10 to reach the fifth-place playoff match played at Impala Club on Saturday.
The bankers, who narrowly missed out on a semi-final spot, were determined to finish their campaign on a high, and they did so emphatically against a youthful Quins outfit.
KCB Rugby start
KCB started strongly, and although Vincent Onyala’s early break went unrewarded after a knock-on, they quickly made amends when Floyd Wabwire sprinted down the left wing to score the opening try, which was converted for a 7-0 lead.
The second try followed soon after to make it 12-0, before Quins pulled one back through a penalty for 12-3.
Captain Felix Ojoo then led from the front, crashing over near the posts for KCB’s third try before peeling off a maul to complete his brace, stretching the lead to 24-3.
Another maul-powered try and successful conversion took the tally to 33 points before Hillary Masiva touched down for Quins in the corner, with Faran Juma converting to close the half at 33-10 in favour of KCB.

The second half was all KCB as Ojoo completed his hat-trick off a pick-and-drive to make it 38-10. The forwards continued to dominate, scoring once again off a maul for 45-10.
KCB’s scrum power delivered yet another try after shoving Quins past their try line for a 52-10 lead. Dennis Waitiha added another under the posts to make it 59-10 before the bankers sealed their commanding win with a final corner try, rounding off a 64-10 victory.
