The Uganda Cup group stage matches entered the second round with teams extending their winning runs.
The second round matches, played on Saturday saw the Pirates, Hippos, Buffaloes, and Heathens emerge as leaders in their groups following dominant performances.
Uganda Cup pool A
The Pirates sit comfortably at the top with 9 points and a point difference of +161 after a commanding 26–10 win over Rams.
They are followed by the Mongers, who have played one game and collected 5 points with a +13 point difference from their first round win over Walukuba, who sit bottom with 0 points and a –33 point difference after two matches.
The Kigezi Silverbacks are in third place with 4 points and a –125 point difference, while the Rams occupy fourth place with 0 points and a –16 point difference.
Group B
Group B is proving to be the tightest contest so far. The Rhinos lead with 9 points and a +83 point difference after edging Gulu City 20–0. The Hippos follow closely with 8 points and a +26 point difference.
The Warriors and Gulu City Falcons are tied on 1 point each, separated only by their negative point differences, while the Mbale Elephants, who have played just one game which they lost, sit at the bottom with a –78 point difference.
Uganda Cup Group C
The Buffaloes top Group C with 10 points and a +73 point difference after a convincing 17–0 win over Kakira Simbas.
The KOBS follow with 9 points and a strong +110 point difference.
The Kakira Simbas sit third with 0 points and a -137 point difference, followed by Kyambogo in fourth with 0 points and a –56 point difference. Fort Portal Trynasts, who have played only one match, are fifth with 0 points and a –99 point difference.
Group D
In Group D, the Heathens continue their title defense impressively, leading with 10 points and a +74 point difference after a dominant 57–6 win over Kitgum Lions.
The Victoria Sharks are second with 5 points and a +15 point difference, while Impis sit third with 4 points and a –18 point difference.
Elgon Wolves and Kitgum Lions share the bottom spots in fourth and fifth place respectively, both with 0 points and point differences of –20 and –51.
